Last week we learned that Jeremiah stole the Alien Registry from the DEO and this week we see what Cadmus is doing with the list. Cadmus is rounding up aliens on the list from a family at the top of the hour to the aliens at the alien bar where among those kidnapped is Lyra.

One good thing that came from this is that in the ensuing fight with Cadmus, Alex manages to take one of the goons in. However, the goon isn’t talking even after Alex gives him a pretty bad beating that J’onn has to pull her off of him.

Considering that aliens are in danger, Kara believes the best way to get the word out is through a CatCo article. But Snapper refuses to run Kara’s story solely based on Supergirl as a source. Kara then offers Snapper an exclusive interview with Supergirl hoping that will get the story published. However, when Supergirl won’t reveal the government agency that had the alien registry, Snapper still refuses to run the story. Lena encourages Kara to publish the story herself on her own blog and offers to do some digging at L Corp. to be a second source to find out what Lilian and Cadmus is up to. And thanks to some encouragement from Mon-El Kara publishes her story on Danvers.com but there are consequences to that. More on that later.

Meanwhile, Alex is at home when she gets an unexpected visitor. It is Jeremiah telling Alex that he is only helping Cadmus to protect her and Kara. Jeremiah tells Alex that Cadmus is holding all of the aliens in some cell but he cannot open it unless he gets a device from the DEO. Jeremiah asks Alex to help him get that device. Alex begs her father to turn himself to the DEO but he knows that if he goes, he will be taken into custody (as J’onn said would happen) and no one can help the aliens. Jeremiah asks Alex to choose to help family versus her job.  Alex debates her decision and when Jeremiah presses her, she chooses her father. Unfortunately, Jeremiah really isn’t there but it was J’onn in disguise to test Alex to see if she can stay objective. Alas, Alex failed and J’onn suspends her. Kara pays Alex a visit after hearing what has happened and agrees with J’onn. Luckily for Alex, Maggie sides with her lady-love and the two work together to find out where is Cadmus’ new facility. This involves thwarting an alien kidnapping and Alex downloading the getaway van’s GPS location.

Also finding the location is Lena after discovering L. Corp is still paying for an abandoned warehouse of Lex’s. When Lena asks her assistant for more information, we see that she is in league with Lilian who orders the assistant to take care of her daughter but to no harm her. Lena calls Kara to let her know what she found but sees two goons sneak up on her. Lena tries to taser them but get overpowered and accidentally falls over the balcony. Thankfully, Supergirl arrives and catches Lena and takes out the goons. Lena then tells Supergirl that she knows where Cadmus is and gives her the location.

At the Cadmus facility, we learn what Lilian Luthor is up to and it is Project Exodus, something that Jeremiah developed and it involves taking all of the aliens they’ve rounded up into a spaceship into space and back to their homeworld. Lilian spouts some Nietzsche and says Jeremiah is the only “Superman” they would need (a nod to Dean Cain’s past as Superman). Arriving at the Cadmus facility is Alex but she eventually gets captured by Jeremiah and Cadmus.

Jeremiah tells Alex of their plans with the aliens but she disagrees at what her father is involved with. Lilian prepares to launch the ship and Alex tries to stop it by blowing up some planted bombs. Alex threatens to blow up more bombs and wants Lilian to stop. Lilian doesn’t stop and Alex asks her dad to choose to do the right thing and he does, he sides with his daughter. The two fight off Cadmus goons and Alex sets off the remaining bombs. However, Lilian tells Alex that she is too late and we see the ship start to take off. Alex runs to the ship to abort its launch from the inside while Jeremiah attempts to stop it on the ground. Unfortunately, Cyborg Superman stops Jeremiah and the two fight. The end result is Cyborg Superman knocks Jeremiah down with his laser vision and he is out for the count and back in the custody of Cadmus.

As the ship goes into orbit, Alex knows that once they are in space it will enter into hyperspace taking them across the universe. Winn can’t hack in to give Alex manual control and J’onn is too far away to stop it. But Kara can as she was on her way to the facility. With great difficulty, Kara does manage to stop the ship from launching into space.

Afterwards, Lyra is reunited with Winn, Alex is reinstated to the DEO and J’onn promises they will find Jeremiah again.

Can I just say how much I am enjoying Chyler Leigh’s Alex this season. I just love how Leigh portrayed Alex’s coming out and how much of a bad ass she is. I loving Leigh more her than I ever did on Grey’s Anatomy.

At CatCo, Snapper fires Kara for publishing the article on her own and defying him. I can’t argue with that decision. I did find it egregious that Kara would all of a sudden become a journalist without any formal training. I don’t quite understand how Kara could publish a single source story especially when she uses her alter ego as her source. I spent two years in journalism school and Kara just decides on a whim to be a journalist. But we know that Kara eventually comes back as a journalist since episode 18 is called “Ace Reporter”.

Back at Kara’s apartment, Mon-el drops by with pot stickers to cheer her up. Mon-el tells Kara that she will find another job. Kara tells her boyfriend that being a reporter is her calling and in her blood. Mon-el then tells Kara that she always has being Supergirl still. Kara tells Mon-el that Supergirl is what she can do but Kara is who she is. This reminds me of something similar Dean Cain’s Clark Kent to Teri Hatcher’s Lois Lane in a season 2 episode of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Kara is happy that she has Mon-el in her life and that he and Supergirl is enough for her. Kara then gives him a sweet kiss.

At episode’s end, we see a spaceship passing over the moon on their way to Earth, inside are Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo who are informed that they’ve arrived. They are referred to as their Highnesses. So I am assuming that Hatcher and Sorbo are Mon-el’s parents and that he is the Prince of Daxam. Wondering how piss Kara is going to be at Mon-el for lying to her? Also, now knowing Hatcher’s role, I highly doubt it that she and Cain will share a scene together unless, fingers crossed, she gets kidnapped by Cadmus.
