In “Family of Rogues” we get to meet another family of the Snart family and Lewis Snart makes Leonard and Lisa look like saints.

But we begin with Iris calling Barry to come to her rescue after one of her stories gets her into trouble. The story that Iris is breaking lands her on the front page, receiving praise from Linda Park (a returning Malese Jow).

How to get rid of your mother

Joe tries to pay of Francine to leave town and Iris alone. But Francine refuses and still wants to see Iris. Later, Joe confides to Barry that Iris’ mother is still alive and seeks advice if he should tell her the truth. Eventually, Joe tells Iris the truth about her mom. Joe tells Iris that when she was younger, her mom overdosed and she skipped recovery and abandoned her family. Iris is understanding as to why Joe didn’t tell her.

There are two sides to every breach

Caitlin and Jay get closer  as they work towards building a stable tunnel connecting Earth-1 and 2. When completed, Jay is ready to go but we see that Caitlin is reluctant to see him go. Team Flash sees that too and convince Jay to stay on Earth-1 while they work together to defeat Zoom.

Meanwhile, Stein isn’t doing to well as he starts to convulse, his eyes go white and he bursts out into blue flames then collapses.

Family of Rogues

Lisa Snart aka Golden Glider recruits Team Flash to rescue her brother Captain Cold who she believes was kidnapped. However, Lisa is only half right, Barry discovers that Cold has been taken by his father Lewis Snart to work on a heist where his cold gun is required.

Team Flash is a little hesitant to trust Lisa but she tells the group that her father was a monster and Leonard was the one who raised her

One of the Snarts’ associates is blown to bits with a bomb implanted within when he bad mouths Cold.

At the crime scene, Patty and Barry get a little flirty. They discover that the victim was associated with Lewis Snart to Barry decides to go undercover as their new IT guy. Team Flash also realizes that Cold is helping his dad because Lisa has a bomb on her.

During the heist, Barry uses his speed to get Lewis and Cold into the safe and Lewis shoots Barry but he stops the bullet and when Lewis and Cold aren’t looking blurs away to be the Flash. However, Lewis threatens to blow Lisa up but thankfully, Cisco figures out how to get the bomb out of Lisa.

With Lisa safe, Cold uses his cold gun to kill his father. In Iron Heights, Barry visits Cold and tells him that he has good in him and can be a hero. Cold doesn’t believe him but we know otherwise.

Lisa thanks Cisco for all he has done for her and calls him her first real friend and gives him a kiss goodbye.

I think it was deliberate for Peyton List and Michael Ironside not to share any scenes together as it wasn’t so long ago that they played another father-daughter duo on Smallville as Sam and Lucy Lane. In fact, Barry’s alias as Sam might have been an homage to Ironside’s Smallville character.

Meanwhile, Barry and Patty continue to awkwardly flirt and Patty gives him her number but realizes she has read thes sign wrong. Patty is embarrassed but Barry still takes her number.

Coda

With the tunnel now connecting the two earths, we get Earth-2 Harrison Wells appearing through the breach.
