Back at the Mayor’s offce, the press is on Oliver’s case for not realizing that Chase was a serial killer and won’t accept his canned answers.
After a hard day meeting with Prometheus’ victims families. Quentin asks why Rene didn’t contact the lawyer Curtis’ suggested to get his daughter back. Rene tells Quentin the reason why he hasn’t called the lawyer or visited his daughter and that is because he accidentally burned her when he was in a drunken stupor. Quentin then arranges for Rene to see Zoe at the Mayor’s office. Father-daughter have a reunion where he learns his daughter is now a goalie on her school’s hockey team. When Zoe asks to go hme with Rene, he has to tell her not yet but is going to call Curtis’ lawyer friend so she can come home with him soon. Meanwhile at Helix, Felicity gives them access to ARGUS files and learns that someone within ARGUS tipped Chase off. However, the mole ends up dead with Alena hunched over his body.
When Lyla, Oliver and Dinah investigate they don’t quite understand what happened. Lyla is relieved that Pierce still had his ARGUS key. Felicity then provides video footage and see that the elevator malfunctioned and that killed Pierce. Felicity and Curtis sees the elevator was hacked and Felicity knows who is behind the hack.
Felicity confronts Alena who admits that she hacked the elevator but didn’t mean to kill Pierce. Alena needed the ARGUS key to help free Cayden James, the founder of Helix who is in ARGUS custody. Once released, Cayden can provide technology that can detect anyone’s heartbeat anywhere.
At the Arrow Cave, Lyla lets them know that Pierce key was a fake and it is a total security breach. Lyla asks Team Arrow to escort the last ARGUS agent out in the field that has a key. Team Arrow is forced to let the baddies Alena hired to grab the key after Felicity tells them to as it will help them get Prometheus. Lyla isn’t happy at what transpired as two ARGUS keys are in the wind. Felicity says this can all be solved if ARGUS hands over Cayden. Lyla refuses. Felicity says she is going to do whatever it takes to stop Chase and goes to Helix.
Lyla then tells Diggle and Oliver that ARGUS is setting a trap to get Helix using Cayden as bait. The men don’t agree with the plan but Lyla is insistent. It seems that Cayden is worse than Snowden and if he gets out can hack into and release a whole bunch of sensitive documents. Diggle then tells Oliver he is the only one that can talk Felicity out of helping Helix.
When Oliver visits Felicity, he understands her need to do whatever it takes to stop Chase but doesn’t want her too. Oliver understand that he has done the same but didn’t want the team to see the toll it took. Felicity tells Oliver she fell in love with for the choices he had to make for the team, the city and her and wants him to let him do what she has to do. Oliver refuses and Felicity tells him that he will have to stop her.
Lyla and Team Arrow go over their plan to trap Helix and Oliver tells Curtis to do what he has to do to stop Felicity. We then see Felicity and Helix arming themselves to the tee and on route the ARGUS site, Alena hands Felicity with a table to stop any ARGUS traps.
Meanwhile, Diggle worries how Lyla is starting to make questionable decisions like Amanda Waller. Soon we realize that Helix has hit a different site than the one Team Arrow was ready to stop Helix. Lyla realizes that Helix is hitting a black site to extract Cayden and didn’t think to mention that Team Arrow was protecting nothing. Diggle is pissed at Lyla en route to the black site site.
At the black site, Helix disarms the traps, uses the ARGUS keys and free Cayden. Team Arrow arrives and Diggle manages to briefly stop Alena before she turns the traps back on. As Helix is getting away with Cayden, Oliver tries to stop them but Felicity gets in the way and puts up a laser fence. Felicity hopes that Oliver will understand her actions once they get Chase. Oliver doubts that he will.
At the Diggles, Diggle is dismayed at how the job has turned Lyla into Amanda Waller. Lyla defends her actions and says that she will do whatever it takes to protect her family. Diggle feels their marriage is at an impasse but Lyla wants them to get pass this and move forward. Diggle tells Lyla that he doesn’t think he can.
Felicity goes to Helix HQ and see is abandoned. Alena appears on a video screen to explain that while she enjoyed working with Felicity, they have to cut ties with her because of her association with Team Arrow. Before saying goodbye, Alena points to Felicity the tracking device that Cayden developed.
When Felicity returns to the Arrow Cave, she lets Oliver know that Helix cut ties with her. Oliver apologizes but Felicity doesn’t believe him. Felicity needed Oliver to have some faith her her and back her play. When Oliver didn’t, Felicity realizes that he doesn’t trust her. The two are then alerted to a hit from Cayden’s tracker. Felicity sees that Chase in in the Arrow Cave and all of a sudden her computer terminal blows up sending the two flying.
