This week’s episode of Arrow mostly took place in Russia flashback land that was intermixed with Oliver being held captive and tortured by Adrian Chase
Oliver doesn’t know what Adrian wants who simply tells him to just admit to his secret. Oliver has no clue what secret Adrian is talking about.
In the Russian flashbacks, it really was all about the Bratva putting a stop to Kovar. After Gregor’s death. Anatoly gets named the new captain (I think of the Bratva). Oliver enlists Galina, Tiana’s and Vlad’s mom to help him get inside Kovar’s casino for opening night to stop a sarin attack that will topple the government and he can take over in a coup. Unfortunately, Galian is killed for her treachery. When OLiver finds her, he starts making his way through Kovar’s casino in his Hood alter ego, killing everyone he sees left, right and center. Kovar release the sarin gas but he and his cohorts are safe because he has a mask on. Oliver does turn off the gas before more people can die, including Anatoly, and he and Kovar get into a fight. The end result is Oliver killing Kovar. This darkness of Oliver’s concerns Anatoly but Oliver shrugs it off. But is Kovar really dead? Because we see that Malcolm Merlyn is also in Russia and has retrieved Kovar’s body and has done something to it.
Back to the present day, Adrian continues to torture Oliver first by putting an arrow through his shoulder and then by bringing Evelyn to him and telling that they need to kill each other. Oliver refuses and Evelyn seemingly regrets siding with Adrian. When Adrian sees that Oliver didn’t kill Evelyn, it looks like he snaps her neck.
Oliver eventually confesses his secret and that he kills because he actually likes it. Evelyn gets up from the ground saying she knew Oliver would eventually confess. Adrian is satisfied that Oliver finally admitted the truth to himself. Adrian tells Oliver that he used his father’s list as an excuse to kill people. Adrian then takes a blow torch to burn off the Bratva tattoo that we see Oliver get in the flashback.
Keeping his word, Adrian lets Oliver go. When Oliver returns to the Arrow Cave, he tells Team Arrow that he is done being the Green Arrow and leaves.
