The Flash is back but troubles still remain for our team like Iris’ murder by Savitar in the future and also Caitlin continuing to battle her inner Killer Frost.

Star Labs Museum

The Star Labs Museum is just about ready to open to the public with some glitches to be worked out like the virtual Cisco tour guide who speaks oddly and puts too much emphasis on the word science. We learn that the profits from Star Labs Museum ticket sales is to help fund all of the research Team Flash is doing. Unfortunately, when the grand opening happens, no one shows up.

Observe and Learn

The Flash is training Kid Flash on missions but the “observe and learn” tactic seems to make it appear that the latter is useful in the eyes of Detective Patterson who notes that Kid Flash just stands around while the Flash does all of the work. Hearing this only makes Wally want to prove himself during missions.

Caitlin and Julian

The bracelets that Caitlin wears to stop her Killer Frost powers aren’t holding up its juice and she doesn’t feel like having be attached to them while they charge. Caitlin seeks out Julian help in getting rid of her powers since he is a meta-human expert. However, Julian coldly refuses to help as he catches meta-humans. Later, Julian apologizes to Caitlin for his rude behavious as he feels guilty in getting some CCPD cops killed while he was Alchemy. Caitlin suggests Julian join Team Flash so he can help and ease his survivors guilt. Julian does accept Caitlin’s offer but the rest of Team Flash needs to think about it.

Barry and Iris

It has been a month since Barry has surprised Iris with their loft. We open the episode with Barry having nightmares of Savitar killing Iris in the future. Barry’s screams wake Iris up but he doesn’t share with Iris what his bothering him.

Later, Barry uses his speed to quickly unpack their new apartment to make it feel like home. (Smallville side note: This reminds of the season 10 episode “Dominion” when Lois and Clark moved in together and how Clark wanted to use his super speed to move in faster but Lois wanted to take her time to ensure everything has their right spot like Iris did).

Iris presses Barry on what his bothering him but doesn’t when he gets alerted to a jewel heist in progress.

When the Flash arrives, he recognizes the robber as Jared Morillo, whom HR dubs Plunder, who is using a futuristic weapon to rob the joint. The reason why the Flash recognizes him is Plunder is from the future news report that he saw that mentions how the Flash caught him. So the Flash lets him go.

However at another robbery, the Flash still doesn’t want to catch him but Kid Flash does. This makes Barry angry as he thinks that the future will come true and breaks off training with Wally.

Barry then asks HR’s advice on whether or not the future is malleable or fixed. HR believes it is fixed.

Barry does finally confess to Iris what is bothering him and takes her to the time vault and shows her the future news article. Iris doesn’t understand how Savitar could kill her since Barry threw the Philosopher Stone in the Speed Force. Iris then wonders how long does she have and Barry says they have 4 months to figure out how to change the future.

Rest of Team Flash learns of Iris’ future. HR says the only way to change the future is change events ahead of it to change its course. Barry recalls seeing a news scroll on the news report about Plunder.

So Cisco and Barry vibe to May 23, 2017 (which is probably the day of The Flash season finale) to read the headlines. Here is what they saw:

• Music Meister gets six figure book deal
• City recovering from Gorilla attack
• Killer Frost on the loose
• Star Labs Museum to close
• Joe receives a commendation

The two then scene Savitar killing Iris but there is a small difference. HR is on a rooftop across the street with riffle in hand. So by telling Team Flash, something has changed. Also, Iris knows that her fate isn’t the only one that needs to be changed

News gets out that Plunder has escaped. Barry tells Wally that he is ready to go out in the field and says he was harsh on Wally because of what he saw in the future. When Kid Flash confronts Plunder, he is a bit too much for hi to handle and he wants the Flash to take him down. The Flash tells Kid Flash that it has to be him because that way they change the headline from the future. Kid Flash does take him done and receives cheers from the crowd that has gathered.

The team celebrates in changing one future event. And Barry gifts Cisco with Plunder’s weapon.

Another way to prevent one headline is that Cisco put the word out to elementary schools and gave them discounted tickets making the museum a success.

As for the other headlines, we will see the Music Meister (Darren Criss) soon and we know Gorilla Grodd is back.

House Warming

At Barry and Iris’ housewarming, Wally brings a plant while HR brings a turtle. Julian arrives and is welcomed to Team Flash. Julian first contribution to the team is to give Caitlin and necklace that he and Cisco designed. This necklace will not only inhibit her powers but gets charged by the sun so need to plug in those bracelets anymore.

As Team Flash is celebrating Barry and Iris’ new home and their love, we see a woman emerge from a breach and turns on a holo picture of HR.

We know that she is Gypsy from Earth-19, looking for HR and we will see that play out next week.
