We are in Liberty, Colorado and the year is 1874. We are back in the Old West again, which means the return of an old friend of the Legends: Jonah Hex.

Before our Legends meet up with Hex again, we open up with a time pirate using a future tracker to locate something. However, the time pirate gets caught by Quentin Turnbull (Jeff Fahey). The time pirate tries and make a deal with Turnbull to reap the benefits of this ore that he has found that is better than gold. But Turnbull isn’t interested in forming a partnership and shoots the time pirate dead and steals his tracker.

Meanwhile on the Waverider, the Legends are looking at the amulet they got off of Darhk and note how it looks similar to the one that Thawne took. Nate determines that it may look like something from the antiquities but it actually is from nowhere. The Legends are concerned what Darhk wants with the amulet and why he is working with a speedster.

Their worries are put aside when they are alerted to a time quake that brings to Liberty, Colorado and 1874.

When they arrive, the Legends (mostly Nate who goes all steel) save Hex from being hung by a group of Turnbull’s men. The Legends soon learn that the time aberration is Turnbull where the revised history books noted that he started his own country.

So back to Liberty they go and discover that Turnbull owns every business in the town. Sara assigns Mick to go to the saloon and try and pick and fight with Turnbull so that he goes outside where Hex can confront him. Amaya is tasked to keep an eye on him. Meanwhile, Ray, Nate and Jax infiltrate Turnbull’s gang. When the trio do so, they go to Turnbull’s mine and discover that he is mining dwarf star alloy and a lot of it. Nate discovers the tracker the time pirate had amongst Turnbull’s possession.

Back at the saloon, Mick is winning at blackjack and catches the attention of Turnbull, At first their encounter is confrontational but Amaya has to let Sara and Hex know that Mick and Turnbull are now buddies.

Hex grows impatient at waiting and heads into the saloon to confront Turnbull. Jax, Nate and Ray return to the rest of the team to tell them of their discovery. All heck breaks loose especially when Turnbull starts using dwarf star alloy bullets that pack quite the punch. When Mick is about to be shot by one of the dwarf star bullets, Nate goes all steel and jumps in front of Mick but the bullet actually goes in him.

Everyone retreats back to the Waverider and Sara is pissed at Hex for not following her orders. Hex then tells Sara about his grudge against Turnbull. Hex and Turnbull go way back to Calvert and how Turnbull trapped the whole town in a church to burn it down with everyone inside. Hex escaped but became horribly scarred. Meanwhile, Nate ends up being okay.

Ray figures out how Turnbull creates his own country. Turnbull uses the dwarf star alloy and transports it via train to the Summit Pass and causes an explosion that closes off the pass. This pass was the gateway to the west from the East Coast..

So the Legends return to LIberty where Nate, Ray and Jax are to stop the train, which they do when Nate goes all steel to halt it in its tracks.

Meanwhile, Sara, Amaya, Hex and Mick will deal with Turnbull. Disguising herself as a man, Sara pretends she has captured Hex. Turnbull is impressed and brings Hex towards the mine. Meanwhile, Mick and Amaya set off dynamite to blow up the mine so no more dwarf star alloy can be mined. When the dynamite goes off, this gives Hex a chance to take down Turnbull and knocks him out.

Later on the Waverider, Hex is impressed with Sara’s leadership and promises her that he will bring in Turnbull to the authorities.

And Amaya tells Mick that he shouldn’t hide the animal that is inside of him and that she will help him better control it.

Elsewhere, Martin was on the sidelines as he was suffering terrible headaches that involved getting visions of an unknown woman. Jax believes that when he encountered his younger self, Martin might have changed something and he is having memories. Martin believes Jax’s theories and what worries him is that he loves the woman in his memories and fears what has happened to Clarissa.

Since the team took the dwarf star allow from Turnbull, Ray is able to make a lot of ATOM suits. Also, earlier in the episode, Ray say a drawing that Nate did of his superhero costume and we see that Ray has turned it into reality.

Sara interrupts their bro time to say their friends in 2016 need their help and we get the first mention of the epic 4-part cross-over that is set to start on November 28!
