EW.com is reporting that Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin as been cast as Superman for the CW’s Supergirl’s upcoming second season.

Hoechlin will appear in the first two episode of the new season to visit cousin Kara (Melissa Benoist) in National City.

The article quotes executive producer Andrew Kreisberg as being “so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”

This will be the first time we will truly see Superman on screen but we’ve been privy to his presence via instant message chats with Kara, in shadow, his boots or appearing to Kara as a child when she was under the influence of the Black Mercy.

Let’s hope when Clark/Superman appears he will have more complimentary things to say about Lois Lane than we’ve had on this show in the past. Sorry, you knew we had to get a Lois Lane mention in since she is our favourite character from the Superman universe.

Supergirl returns Mondays this fall at 8pm ET on the CW.
