After the lost of Snart and not knowing where Savage is in the timeline, Rip drops off our Legends back in Star City 2016 but instead of Jnaruy. he lects to bring them to May 2016. The team doesn’t want to go back to their lives with Savage still out there and also Kendra and Carter in his clutches. Alas, the Rip they were talking to was a hologram and the real Rip flies away on the Waverider.

So the team goes their separate ways. Sara goes to the Arrow Cave and finds her dad at Felicity console. It is the exact moment where Lance was in this week’s Arrow as Team Arrow goes to find Thea in the Ark. Sara went to Laurel’s first but she wasn’t there. Lance has to deliver the heart breaking news that Laurel died at the hands of Damien Darhk. Sara breaks down and cries at first refusing her fathers comfort but soon accepts and sobs in his arms as I sob too.

I really do love that the CW has all of these interconnected DC Comic shows and it truly is necessary to be watching them all  is because if you don’t watch Arrow, you would be completely lost.

Stein is bak home with Clarissa answering Trivial Pursuit questions about HG Wells. Clarissa knows something is wrong and Stein explains that he left some umcpleted work during his sabbatical.

Meanwhile, over at Central City, Rory has returned to his life of crime and has recruited a young lad to take over as the new Captain Cold.  But this young guy is too eager so Rory takes him and grabs the cold gun and gets into a car where Ray is the driver.

In a parking garage, Ray tells Rory that maybe Snart wants them to become new partners and work together to complete their Savage mission.

So the Legends return to the point where Rip droped them off. Ray has some kind of beacon and Stein has an other kind of device that is supposed to send Rip a message. Rip is on board the Wabrider watching the video message left by his family. Gideon lets Rip know of a message from 2016. When Rip meets up with the team, they all tell them they will go their separate ways once they get Kendra and Carter back and stop Savage.

So where is Kendra? She is in 1944 Saint-Lo, France. It is WWII and she comes across and Allied solider. Kendra tells the soldier that she has escaped captivity. The soldier thinks it is from the Nazi’s but she says it is someone much worse. Kendra recognizes the helmet the soldier has and scribbles a note that she puts inside the helmet.Savage arrives and kills the solider and recaptures Kendra. On board Savage’s timeship, he takes Carter’s blood and Kendra’s. Savage plan is to use it on the Thangarian meteors to turn back time to 1700 BC Egypt and rule the world his way.

Once everyone is back on the Waverider, Sara wants to Rip to take her back in time so she can save Laurel. Rip tells her he can’t. We later learn that if Rip bring Sara back, Laurel will still die but she will die and so will Lance.

When the team are formulating a plan, Jax knocks the WWII helmet off a table. Rip realizes it has been moved and finds Kendra’s note.

The team heads to Saint-Lo, France. Savage has come across German soldiers transporting the meteor. A battle ensues between Savage’s men, the Nazi’s and the Legends. During the battle, Firestorm performs a transmutation on a Nazi weapon. The team is outnumbered to have to retreat. Unfortunately, Kendra is still Savage’s prisoner.

Back on board the Waverider, Carter explains what Savage is up to.

After a failed attempt to do transmutation again, Stein realizes how we can stop Savage.

Savage plans on using Kendra and Carter’s blood to perform a ritual on the Thanagarian meteors. Because there were three of them. Savage plans on doing this at three points in time when the Earth and Thanagar are in alignment. The dates are 1958, 1875 and 2021. When the meteors are activated and emits a radiation, it renders Savage mortal.

So the team splits up. In 1958 Harmony Falls, we see Savage give his past self the vial of blood and we then see bits of “Night of the Hawkmen” where Savage comes across the meteor. Rory and Ray wait for Savage to perform the ceremony before making their move. When the ceremony begins, Ray has to contend with the Hawk people while Rory takes on Savage.

In Norway 1975, we see the nuclear arms deal go sideways. We then see White Canary, Stein and Jax waiting for their ceremony to begin.

In 2021 St. Roch, Savage performs his ceremony. Battles ensues and we intercut between the three time periods. Eventually Kendra stabs Savage with one of this knives in 2021, Rory sets Savages body on fire in 1958 and Sara snaps Savage’s neck in 1975.

Ray shrinks the meteor in 1958 before it can explode while Firestorm transmutates the one in 1975 into a puddle of water.

The team reunites in 2021 and the third meteor is about to explode so Rip takes into the Waverider to ride it into the sun. The team knows he is sacrificing himself and no one wants to lose a friend. Rip telsl them team it was an honor being their captain. As the Waverider and Rip head into the sun, he sees a vision of his wife and son Rip wakes up and Gideon says she isn’t ready to die and he says he isn’t either so he dumps the meteor and jumps back in time to 20 minutes ago, moment after he initially left.

The team is back in 2016 and Rip decides that he will take on the role of Time Master to protect the timeline and would love the team to come with him. So Sara visits Laurel grave and her father thinks she should go. Sara wants to stay and be there for her family and help Team Arrow defeat Darhk. But Sara decides to go because Laurel was the one to convince her in the first place to go on this journey in the first place.

Stein is back playing Trivial Pursuit with Clarissa and she and Jax get Stein to go on Rip’s adventure.

We see Rory has gone to Central City 2013 to meet Snart in a bar. Rory just wanted to tell his friend that he is the best person he has ever known and that he is a hero to him. Snart is a bit confused but takes in what Rory said. Ray meets up with Rory.

So all of our Legens meet with Rip but we learn that Kendra and Carter won’t be going. With Savage gone, the two decide to finally see where their lives will take them and just want to be together. Kendra shares a sweet farewell with Ray and Hawkgirl and Hawkman fly away.

As the team prepares to board the Waverider, they spot another Waverider coming and lands. A man (Patrick J. Adams) merges demanding to know if he is in May 2016. When it is confirmed he is, he is glad and tells the team not to board their Waverider as they will all die. They wonder how this mystery man knows this and apparently it was Rory. We learn that his man is Rex Tyler and a member of the Justice Society of America. In the comics, Rex Tyler is also known as the Hourman.
