After initially launching its freshman run on CBS, Supergirl has been renewed for season 2 but will now call the CW home. As reported by TV Line, the show will move production from sunny Los Angeles to rainy Vancouver, BC. However, this move makes sense as it allows Supergirl to potentially cross-over with the CW’s other DC Comics show (Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow). One of Supergir’s highest rated episodes was in fact the one-way crossover with The Flash.

According to TV Line, there is no word on whether the move to Vancouver will preclude Calista Flockhart’s participation. Let’s hope Flockhart stays on because Cat’s relationship with Kara/Supergirl is one of the strongest elements of the show. Updated: TV Guide reports that Calista Flockhart has agreed to move to Vancouver!

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist in the title role, Mechad Brooks as James Olsen, Jeremy Jordan as  Winn Schott, David Harewood as J’onn Jonzz/the Martian Manhunter, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant. Recurring cast include Dean Cain as Jeremiah Danvers, Helen Slater as Eliza Danvers and Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El.

Since Pop Goes the World is based in Vancouver, we will be sure to seek out filming when the time comes.

Season 2 will air on the CW but it is unknown what day and time.
