Supergirl Season 1 Finale “Better Angels” Recap

We pick up where we left off from the last episode. It is mind controlled Alex versus Kara. Kara tries to talk sense to Alex but to no avail. Eliza arrives with Hank protecting her mind. Eliza talks to Alex about Jeremiah being proud of her and how she is Alex Danvers. This works as Alex breaks from Myriad.
Back at the TV station, Alex tells Lord, Hank and Cat how it was hope that woke her up. Lord is going to broadcast Supergirl’s speech about hope to break the people of National City free. Supergirl’s speech begins and take a swig every time she says the hope, which was numerous. The House of El symbol appears on screens everywhere and it wakes up Winn, James, Lucy and the rest of National City. Non tells Indigo that he has failed Astra. Indigo says Non didn’t think big enough and their next step is to destroy all the humans on Earth and leave Kara behind on a dead Earth.
At CatCo, Winn and James apologies for the things they said while under Myriday. Kara says no apologies are necessary. James then wants to talk about their kiss but Cat interrupts them for their morning meeting.
Back at the DEO, J’onn is in the med bay and Lucy is looking in. Sam Lane arrives and wonders why Superman is still out and then wants to put J’onn back in his prison. Lucy thinks that is not necessary as J’onn saved people. Lane says J’onn is still a danger and what he is doing is all to protect her and the planet. Lucy sees how stubborn her dad is and says that is the reason why he drove Lois away and doing the same to her.

Eliza is also at the DEO and wants to know why Alex and J’onn went to see her in Midvale. Alex tells her mom that her dad is still alive and being held at Cadmus labs. Once they stop Non and Indigo, Alex and J’onn will go looking for him. Lord interrupts their conversation to tell them that the Myriad signal has now been amplified to cause terrible headaches in humans and that eventually lead to people’s heads blowing up.
Lord tells Lucy, Kara and Alex they have four hours to stop this from happening and Lucy tasks him to find the source. Lord then tells Kara that he doesn’t think Kara will survive her battle with Non and Indigo without back up. Kara just wants him to find the source and she will take care of the rest.

Lord has found the Myriad source and it is in the desert where Fort R’ozz crash landed. J’onn volunteers to go with Supergirl to fight Indigo and Non. Lane says no as J’onn is still under arrest and is a national security risk. But Lucy overrides her father’s orders.
J’onn notes that Kara didn’t say goodbye to Alex and she says if she did wouldn’t leave.
We see that the Myriad signal is getting worse and we see our cast getting really bad headaches and even see Alex and Lord hold hands.
In the desert, it is Supergirl versus Non. They trade punches and the showdown comes to who has better control over their heat vision. Supergirl ends up winning and Non is dead as his heat vision gets blasted back into him. It is the Martian Manhunter versus Indigo and just as Indigo is about to win she gets distracted as she sees Non in trouble. This lets Martian Manhunter grab her and rip her in half. When Kara and J’onn are ready to stop Myriad, Indigo says they can’t as Fort R’ozz has been programmed to keep going.
Kara wants to speak to Alex and says she can’t stop Myriad so she is going to push Fort R’ozz into space. Alex knows it is a suicide mission. Kara says her goodbye to Alex and tells her that she, Jeremiah and Eliza gave her a good life, a life she thought she wouldn’t have after Krypton. Kara wants Alex to find love and have the life she should have had if she wasn’t her sister. As they talk Alex spies Kara’s spaceship. Kara lifts Fort R’ozz into space and as she starts to pass out, Alex flies in with Kara’s pod and saves her.
Kara is alright and Lane announces J’onn got presidential pardon and back as DEO head. J’onn thanks Lucy for her work and says they will all work together with no secrets. but we see Lord with the Omegahedron that Lane has given him. Wonder what Lord is up to? Guess we will find out in season 2.
The next day, Clark IM’s Kara and calls her his hero and proud of her for saving the world. Cat arrives and packs her stuff but Kara is not fired but promoted to a position of her own design. Cat calls it her end of Working Girl moment and pronounces her name correctly for the first time all season.

At a dinner party at Kara’s place, Eliza has a place setting for Jeremiah, Alex says they will bring him back from Cadmus. James speaks with Kara privately and gives a photo portrait of herself in glasses and kisses her. Champagne is then popped and a toast is given to family.
A bright light flashes by the window and Kara and J’onn go to investigate. They see it is a pod that looks like Kara’s and when she opens it up she is shocked at what she sees. We the audience don’t see as that will be revealed in season 2, if we get a season 2 so make that happen CBS.
