Jenna Dewan-Tatum to Play Lucy Lane on CBS’ Supergirl
The Witches of East End’s Jenna Dewan-Tatum has been cast has Lucy Lane in CBS’s upcoming new fall show Supergirl, TV Line confirmed.
In the DC Comics world, Lucy is the sister of Lois Lane, Superman’s love interest and intrepid Daily Planet reporter. In the series, Lucy will also be the ex-girlfriend of Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), as also in the comics. It seems with Lucy joining the show, we will have a love triangle between her, Jimmy and Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), who clearly has a crush on Jimmy in the show’s pilot.
It is unknown whether or not Lucy will also become Superwoman, which she has done in the comics. On-screen, Lucy was previously played by Maureen Teefy in the 1984 film Supergirl and Peyton List on Smallville. List is now the Golden Glider on the CW’s The Flash.
It is unknown when Dewan-Tatum will first appear on Supergirl or for how many episodes.
Supergirl debuts Monday, Oct. 26, at 8:30/7:30c, before moving into its regular Mondays-at-8 time slot.
