TVLine is reporting that Falk Hentschel has won the coveted role of Hawkman in the CW’s mid-season replacement DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. 

Hawkman aka Carter Hall is the reincarnation of an Egyptian prince fated to be reborn throughout time. Carter can tap into the powers of the Hawk God, Horus — just like his similarly reincarnated soulmate, Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renee) aka Hawkgirl.

This isn’t Hawkman first appearance on live television. In Smalllville season 9, Michael Shanks played the role in “Absolute Justice” and reprised it again in the season 9 finale “Salvlation” and appeared in two season ten episodes “Shield” and “Icarus”. Shanks now stars opposite Smallville’s Erica Durance on Saving Hope.

Hentschel’s previous credits include Reckless, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD and White House Down.

Hawkman is first going to appear on the Arrow/The Flash cross over event.
