To give the illusion that the Flash is still around and saving Central City, Team Flash have projected a hologram of the Flash chasing after bad guys while Barry is back at STAR Labs running on a treadmill while Cisco is controlling the hologram’s movement.

Harry tells Team Flash that what they are doing is only going to be temporary and people will soon figure out the ruse. Harry desperately wants Barry to agree to letting him recreate the particle accelerator explosion but Iris and Cisco are against the idea as they fear that more meta humans will be created. Harry tries to assure them that with Earth-1 Wells science, he can contain the explosion only to Barry.

Barry drives up to his father’s cabin seeking his advice. Henry learns that Barry gave up his powers to Zoom to save Wally’s life. Barry also mentions how Zoom is Jay Garrick. Henry finds it interesting that Jay’s last name is the same as his mother’s maiden name. I know that this can’t just be a passing comment and this will be significant. Is it possible that Henry and Jay are related somehow on Earth-2 and that Henry is the man in the iron mask?

Henry tells his son that doesn’t need to be Flash to be the good person that he is but Barry doesn’t know what his life would be if he wasn’t the Flash.

Meanwhile, an argument with Harry caused Cisco to Vibe his brother Dante so he goes off the meet him at a bar. It seems that after being kidnapped by Captain Cold and Heat Wave didn’t bring the brothers Ramon together but put them even further apart. Dante wonders why Cisco only reaches out when something is wrong. Cisco fed up with Dante’s attitude leaves the bar. Dante follows him out hoping to get a lift but the two are confronted by Rupture wielding a scythe and calling Cisco Vibe and wants revenge on him for killing his brother Reverb. Rupture pulls off his mask and Dante sees his own face looking back at him. Once back in STAR Labs, Cisco learns from Harry about Rupture and how his powers are tethered to the scythe he carries. Harry once again wants Barry to let him get his speed back. Barry’s dad and two father figures debate on what is best for Barry. Henry points out the last time the particle accelerator exploded, Barry was in a coma and he doesn’t want that to happen again. Barry overhears the debate and tells the men that this is his decision to make.

Later Dante learns all about Cisco’s adventure on Earth-2.

As Barry looks at the containment unit, Iris sees the decision weighing heavily on him. Iris then confesses her feelings to Barry and he wants to know why Iris is telling him now. Iris replies that she wanted Barry to know that it doesn’t matter to her whether or not he is the Flash.

And remember in the last episode how Zoom swore to Caitlin that he will take over Earth-1? Well, Zoom starts to make good on that promise where his first stop is the CCPD. Every officer points their gun at Zoom and he vows to kill every cop there but Caitlin convinces him to spare their lives. Singh orders everyone to leave the precinct and Barry later suggests they set up shop at Jitters while they figure out what to do with Zoom.

Caitlin is still Zoom’s captive and she sees a meeting between him and Rupture ordering him to kill the cops at Jitters. Caitlin goads Jay saying he only uses a different voice to scare people but Jay says that he uses a voice of a monster because he is one. When Zoom leaves, Caitlin, who has procured a cellphone from a personal effect box to text STAR Labs about Rupture attacking Jitters.

Barry knows the only way to stop Rupture is the Flash. Harry thinks that Barry is going to go through the particle accelerator explosion but no. Barry can’t take the chance of no more meta humans being created. So until Harry can assure that his plan is safe, Barry will use the hologram Flash to stop Rupture. The plan does work and the police capture Rupture but Jay sees a news report about Rupture capture and sees that Caitlin has betrayed him. Zoom goes to Jitters and kills several cops and is about to kill Singh when Barry arrives asking him to stop. Zoom kills Rupture and grabs a reporters camera to announce to Central City that the Flash seen around town is a fake and that Central City is now his and warns the police to stay way or he will kill them all.

When Cisco goes back to STAR Labs, he finds Dante and gives him a big hug and vows that they will become close once again after both saw his Earth-2 counterpart get killed by Zoom.

Meanwhile, with the hologram ruse exposed, not only will Earth-2 meta humans will be on there way but Earth-1 meta humans too will emerge now that the Flash is no longer around.

Barry decides to go through with Harry’s plan but there is only one problem, the weather is all clear with no lightening in sight. Harry asks Cisco to use his wand. Cisco wonders if Harry meant the wand he created for Mark Mardon but Harry said no, he meant the wand for the Harry Potter convention. Of course Harry meant the wand for Mark Mardon but Cisco wonders how Harry knew about the Harry Potter convention. I am only noting this because I am a huge Harry Potter fan.

Barry assures his friends and family that everything is going to be okay. Cisco goes to the roof to start the lightening storm at Harry mark. Iris once again assures Barry that it doesn’t matter if he is the Flash or not. Barry tells his father that his life is nothing if he isn’t the Flash. Harry starts to procedure that involves Barry to get injected with the chemicals that he got doused with the first time. Harry then gets Cisco to start the lightening storm and Cisco raises the wand in the air and yells “Expecto Patronum” and once the lightening storm starts, Cisco makes like Doc Brown from Back to the Future by declaring “Great Scots! It’s working”

We see Barry taking everything in and he starts to disappear and poof is gone. Iris is devasted and Henry wonders what Harry did to his son. Harry is just confused as to why his idea didn’t work.

To keep Wally and Jesse safe from Ruptuer and Zoom, Joe has them hide in the time vault but Jesse figures out a way to escape. However, bad timing as Jesse and Wally get caught in the particle accelerator explosion. And I believe Kid Flash and Jesse Quick are born.

Jay is also seeing this and flashes to STAR Labs. Zoom grabs the pieces of the Flash suit and tells Team Flash that instead of giving Barry’s speed back, they killed him instead and speeds away.

Of course we know that Barry isn’t dead as from the previews for next week he is ins some alternate reality. Also, Kevin Smith is directing next week’s episode.
