For CTV, the Canadian broadcaster for DC’s Legend of Tomorrow, the superhero team-up show got the plum post Super Bowl time slot so if you don’t want to know what happened in “White Knights” which will air in the United States on the CW this Thursday, February 11, 2016 then stop reading now.

We get another two-parter in this show’s young season as half of our team of legends are in peril.

But before we get to that, the team arrive in Washington, DC 1986 to steal the unredacted documents the Pentagon has on Vandal Savage.

The mission starts off well but the goes off the rails when Kendra goes all warrior priestess and gauges out the eyes of one the guards.

While the mission ended up a complete disaster, the team got the documents to reveal that Savage is working with a Russian scientist by the name of Valentina Vostok (Stephanie Corneliussen) but it is unknown exactly what except the code name of the project is based on the Scandinavian name for fire god.

So the team is off to the USSR but along the way, the Waverider comes under attack by Chronos but quick thinking by Rip, Chrono’s ship is shot down by Russian jets.

Taming the Warrior Within

Rip has tasked Sara to help Kendra control the warrior within. The two battle it out and eventually, Sara does get the warrior to come out and Hawkgirl attacks Sara. But this awakens the blood lust in Sara who was about to choke Kendra to death before she came back to reality. Kendra then realizes the two need to help each other. Sara to help tame her warrior side and Kendra to help Sara’s humanity.

An Tempting Offer

Gideon lets Rip know that Chrono’s ship was found in some forest. Rip takes Rory with him and he finds Time Master Druce there. Druce tells Rip that Chronos died in the crash. Druce tells Rip that the Time Masters aren’t happy with his mission and ruining the time line in his wake of his team’s failures. Druce  offers to pardon him, fix the time line, and return his team to the point they left. Rip needs to think about the offer and Druce tells him to come back in an hour with the team with his decision. Rory, who eavesdropped, says that Druce will not honor the deal but instead of kill him and the team.

Rip brings the deal to Stein, Jax and Rory who see that Rip wants to take the deal. Back in the forest, Rory was right as Druce and Chronos is there to kill them. Thankfully Rory and Firestorm are there too.

However, Jax is being a bit reckless, like he was in DC and Stein is trying to tell him what to do. Jax, tired of Stein, does what he wants to do but unfortunately gets hurt in the process of taking down Chronos and Druce.

Once back on the Waverider, Stein berates Jax for being reckless while Jax is still angry for kidnapping him. Jax worries that his mom will think he abandoned her if something happened to him. Stein, still angry at Jax continues to berate him. When Jax leaves to go to the med bay, Stein tells Ray that he felt bad for yelling at Jax but the reason why he did it was to hope to put some sense in him because he can’t lose another partner like he did Ronnie and doesn’t want to be the person to tell his mom that Jax had died.

To Russia with Love?

Thanks to a pill that lets the taker speak any language they want, Snart and Ray are tasked to approach Vostok. Ray will appeal to the scientist side of Vostok while Snart will appeal to Vostok’s love of the ballet. Ray strikes out with Vostok but Snart has success in getting close enough to Vostok to steal her security card to Lukavich Labs.

After Stein’s fight with Jax, he decides that he should be the one to break into Lukavich Labs to find out what Savage is up to. Once inside, Stein sees that Vostok and Savage are trying to create a Russian Firestorm. Stein finds a chamber that contains a therma core that could help create that Firestorm. Snart and Ray are also at the labs to give Stein an assist. Ray is tasked to shutting down the core so Stein can take it safely. Snart meanwhile is tasked to keep Vostok safe. Unfortunately, Vostok doesn’t need a white knight to rescue. In fact, Vostok is very much aware what she is building with Savage and threatens Snart’s life so Ray would turn back the core. Ray does what Vostok asks and Stein is forced to absorb all the energy from therma core, despite Jax telling him not to.

However, Ray gets knocked out my Russian soldiers, Stein gets taken hostage too while Rory gets shot and taken prisoner. Snart gets away with the therma core and back to the Waverider. Snart isn’t happy with Rip. But Rip tells Snart that he couldn’t send any more of the team or they would be prisoners too. Rip explains to the remaining Legends that Ray and Rory are leverage while Stein is needed to help Vostok create another therma core, which will give the team a chance to plan a rescue mission. Meanwhile, Stein is in his prison cell with Vostok explaining what she needs from him.

So ends “White Knights”. Hopefully, the team will rescue the others as I don’t want another death to come so soon after Carter’s death.
