CTV has announced that it has ordered a 5th season of Saving Hope. The 18-episode season is slated to begin production in the spring of 2016 while the current 4th season will resume on Thursday January 7th, 2016 in its new 10pm ET/PT timeslot.
The season will conclude with a special two-hour finale event on Valentine’s Day, Sunday, Feb. 14, beginning at 8 p.m. ET/PT. CTV describes the season 4 finale as “emotional and dramatic” with the two-hours culminating “in a shocking moment viewers won’t want to miss.”
Returning for Season 5 are Erica Durance as Dr. Alex Reid; Michael Shanks as Dr. Charlie Harris, Wendy Crewson as Dr. Dana Kinney, Benjamin Ayres as Dr. Zach Miller, Julia Taylor Ross (ROOKIE BLUE) as Dr. Maggie Lin, Michelle Nolden as Dr. Dawn Bell, Huse Madhavji as Dr. Shahir Hamza, and Kim Shaw as Dr. Cassie Williams.
When Saving Hope returns on January 7th, 2016 looks like CTV will air episode 11, the episode it skipped in favour of the Christmas episode “Shine a Light”. The episode entitled “All Down the Line” is described as:
With Dr. Dana Kinney (Wendy Crewson) back from Paris, Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) enlists her help to save Lorenzo (Stefano DiMatteo, KILLJOYS), a hot-tempered chef suffering from oral cancer. Her concerns over her friend’s own treatment (or lack there-of) quickly bubble to surface however, when their patient refuses medical attention in favour of pursuing the opening of his restaurant. Meanwhile, Dr. Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks) has his hands full juggling the spirit of a restless single mother, while working to save her life after a DIY treehouse accident. The episode also features guest star Stacey Farber as Dr. Sydney Katz.
Don’t forget to also check out our feature on Allison Wilson-Forbes, who plays Hope-Zion’s Nurse Alice.
