Entertainment Tonight has reported that former Chasing Life star Italia Ricci has been cast as DC Comic’s villain the Silver Banshee in a recurring role in CBS’s Supergirl. The ET article states that Ricci will play “Siobhan Smythe, Cat Grant’s latest hire at CatCo, who at first becomes a work nemesis for Kara but proves a more deadly foe for Supergirl when she becomes DC villain Silver Banshee.” According to DC lore, the Silver Banshee has a powerful scream that can cause destruction.

TV Line is also reporting that Ricci will make her debut in Episode 14.

This isn’t the first time the Silver Banshee has a live action appearance. The character appeared in episode 15 “Escape” of Smallville’s season 9 and was played by Odessa Rae.

In other news, Supergirl is also looking to cast 13-year old Clark Kent/Kal-El, set to appear in episode 13. The TV Line article states that this version of Clark Kent will appear “via a string of flashbacks that will establish the cherished bond between him and Kara.”

And one last piece of Supergirl news, the show has been picked up by CBS for a full season to a total of 20 episodes.

  1. Isn’t she the spouse of Robbie Amell? Makes me wonder if this show will ever join the Arrow/Flash universe

Italia is Robbie’s fiancée. It is kind of cool that she is Silver Banshee on Supergirl while Robbie is Firestorm on the Flash and Stephen is the Green Arrow. It would be cool if Supergirl were part of the Flarrow universe but it is a bit hard considering the different networks.
