Pop Goes the World Podcast: November Sweeps is upon us

The leaves have changed colour and the weather has turned cold. It can only mean one thing: Fall. And now as we enter November, we are in the midst of November sweeps. All the network shows use this time to bring out the big guns in terms of storytelling to keep us hooked on our favourite new and returning shows.

In our latest podcast, Nadya, Sigrid and I discuss all the new and returning shows that we discussed in our first two podcasts to see if a) we are still watching the new shows b) why we keep watching them c) why we stopped watching them and d) Are we liking what some of our returning faces are doing.

Some of the shows discussed include Ringer, Once Upon a Time, Terra Nova, Against the Wall and Revenge.

About your hosts:

All three of us met while volunteering for Vancouver’s awesome annual Shakespeare festival Bard on the Beach. One day as we were on our break, we started talking about TV and found out we had a lot to say about TV shows past and present and other things pop culture. Hence this podcast was born.

Vanessa: I love all things pop culture and that includes TV, films and theatre. My favourite shows include Glee, Chuck, Smallville, Felicity, Veronica Mars, Pushing Daisies, Gilmore Girls, Battlestar Galactica, Everwood, Road to Avonlea, The Young Riders, The Muppet Show,. Masterpiece (formerly known as Masterpiece Theatre) and I could go on and on and on and on. Fave films include Star Wars trilogies (yes I said trilogies -I like the prequels), Harry Potter (all 8 films), Wallace and Gromit, Jane Eyre 2011 version, West Side Story, The Sounds of Music, and too many more to name. Nadya: In no particular order, Nadya is a outdoors junkie, grad student, daydreamer, problem solver, photographer, foodie, buffy addict, plant enthusiast, and theatre lover. Follow me on twitter: @nadyaogloff.

Sigrid: The arts are my passion – whether I’m watching, reading, or listening, for better or for worse, it’s always an experience for the mind and senses. I am a part-time blogger, English geek, Shakespeare nut, music snob, Anglophile, polyglot, Bayern München fan, Whovian, Top Gear (UK) enthusiast. Follow me on Twitter: starduster360
